An Honest Assessment of the York C302 Cycle

I don’t often review products on my blog, but wanted to buck that trend today and tell you all about the new exercise bike that I bought in January. After some careful consideration and research online I opted to purchase the York C302 Cycle which is one of their more advanced and higher-end models designed for customers who already have a high-level of fitness and want to train hard. Training hard is important to me because I am preparing to run a marathon over the Summer of 2012 and want to be in as good physical condition as is humanly possible. At the moment it’s far to cold to run outside so as well as the York C302 I will also be investing in a cheap Reebok treadmill so I can do running indoors as well as cycling.

Before I bought the new bike I read a very good online York C302 Review which helped me to make my mind up. The features that I really like are the advanced pre-set programs that are desgined to mimic outdoor cycling with long sprint, hill climbs, and endurance racing. I’ve not done and completed all of them yet, but I aim to do this within the next three months as it is going to take me quite a while to become fully proficient on it. Hopefully by April or May I can also start running outdoors again and by that time – due to the help from my exercise bike – I will be in tip-top fighting condition and will be ready to take on the World when I run the London Marathon 2012.

Grand Prix Facts

If you’re off to the Monaco Grand Prix next year, why not learn some Formula 1 facts to impress your friends? Here are some interesting grand prix facts:

1 – Because of the high exposure to G force for a prolonged period of time, the drivers lose on average about 4 kilos after just one race. Before you all go to the race track to speed up your diet (pun intended), the weight goes straight back on afterwards.

2 – Another reason the drivers can lose weight during a race is because of dehydration. The cockpits of a Formula 1 car are surprisingly hot, so the drivers tend to drink a lot of water before a race to avoid being dehydrated.

3 – Numbers are given to the drivers in accordance with where they ranked in the competition prior to that race. However, due to superstition, no-one is given number 13.

I Fell off My Longboard

I got hurt the other day when I fell off my almost perfect loaded dervish longboard. I guess I was just going crazy with it. You see, I bought this longboard just last weekend and I have been really riding it hard over the last few days. You really do not know how much and how long I have waited and wanted to own a board like this. It is simply nothing else. I used a very cheap longboard back in the day and it did not do me much good.

Right now, this longboard gives me plenty of confidence to do the tricks that I have always wanted to try. Unfortunately for me, I think I was a little too confident and this sent me flying off my board and into hard pavement.

I think my arm will be in a cast for a while. At least this is what the doctor told me this afternoon.

Climbing with the Asics 2150

I started climbing ages ago and regardless of what anyone says the asics 2150 are awesome for it. When I first bought them it was for jogging so I could improve my fitness a bit but at one point I went to the climbing hall and I’d forgotten by climbing shoes, but I did have the asics in my bag.

I think they’re actually the asics 2150 trail trainers which mean they can grip wet and sloppy surfaces (I actually also had the Asics Gel Kayano 15 but I don’t think they’d have enough grip). I didn’t want to waste the trip and I started climbing around with my running shoes and actually managed to forget it was even anything abnormal. I was climbing like I normally would, better in fact because the shoes were just that comfortable and flexible. The guidance system in the sole was a little bit strange at first but compared to the crappy climbing shoes you find out there you’d be surprised how good they could be.

So I keep climbing with them completely forgetting about my ole climbing shoes. I even bought a new pair of shoes for running so I can leave these trail shoes aside for rock climbing. The funny part is I don’t even run trail, so I don’t know why I got them in the first place but I’m not complaining. So now what I want is the asics 2150 climbing version!

Climbing Techniques and Losing Weight

Climbing is very much a sport, and it’s something that more British climbers are getting into by the day. And it’s more than a sport; it’s recreation, and it’s a very thorough way of getting that full body work out that so many people invest in machines for. And that’s the thing about these very particular sorts of climbing techniques, they’re there because they actually work certain muscles. It’s almost as if the wall, and the climb; it’s almost as if these things are ancillary or incidental. It’s just, it’s a very good work out, and we all need to accept that, and come to terms with it. In the end, though, we will, and in the end, we all want a really fit body. Chances are, you won’t find very many obese people on the wall, when you free climb this weekend; you will not find that, because they work out.
